On this tab setup and manage logins to provide access to your FTP-Stream site.

Click the Add button to create a new login, or the Edit link to update a login.

If you want many logins with the same settings you can make a login group and assign new or existing logins to the group.

Login and Real Name

Login is a short name, eg. if your customer is The Acme Corp, you could set the login and real name as "acme" and "Acme Corporation". Or if the login is for a project perhaps use the project name.

Expiry

Set a date for the login to expire or set to never expire. To suspend a login clear the Active check box.

Quick Passwordless Login

You can send this link to your customers or colleagues for passwordless access to your site. If you prefer your users to login with a username and password send them the site address from the Code and URLs tab.

Restricted Public Access

You may want to provide public access such that anybody can have immediate but restricted access to download or upload without a login or password. For an example of restricted public access see the widget on our website.

On the Web sub-tab you can set a login to be "public", this provides restricted public access to your site. When visitors access your site they are automatically logged in as the this user. Visitors will see the listing of files and folders, and can download and upload, but cannot make folders, delete, rename or move files. Only one login can be set to public at a time.

If public is active, users who have a login and password can still go the the site and login using their credentials as normal.

Sharing Mode for Public Access

If you set a login as public you can choose to enable sharing mode for uploads. By default when the public login uploads the files are written to a hidden folder only accessible to the admin user. This protects your site from abuse, but if you enable sharing mode, uploaded files are written to the current folder and are immediately visible and available for download.
