How to change my PGP passphrase

Your PGP passphrase is a sequence of words or other text that is used to control the access to your encrypted files.

If you want to change your PGP passphrase, follow these simple steps:

Click on your name initials at the top right of the account and follow the Manage profile link.
Navigate to the Security sub-tab and click on the Change passphrase button.
Enter your old and new passphrases and click Save.

The passphrase should contain min 6 and max 255 characters (any characters can be used).

Although your PGP passphrase was changed, your PGP key pair remains the same. You will still be able to decrypt your encrypted files using your PGP key pair.

Please note if you forget your PGP passphrase, you will not be able to recover it and you will lose access to all previously encrypted files (they will be available in the list of files but you won't be able to decrypt them). In order to encrypt future files, you'll need to generate a new pair of PGP keys.

You can generate new PGP keys by clicking on the Change keys button above the Change passphrase button (see the screenshot above). If you change your PGP keys, all your previously encrypted files will not be accessible.
